A Glimpse of Lalbagh Botanical Gardens

Since its inception in 1760 by Hyder Ali and its subsequent patron Tipu Sultan and the n the British, the Garden is located in the heart of the city in a 240 acre of land about 4 km from the State Legislature – the Vidhana Soudha. The garden is in the midst of the Jayanagar residential area. Lalbagh have 4 gates. East gate towards Double Road is open for visitors with vehicles. Northern gate is facing towards Subbaiah circle, the West gate is facing Basavanagudi, and South gate is towards Jayanagar.
