Yesudas seek land for music school

Renowned singer K J Yesudas has met Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa seeking land to set up a music school in Bangalore.

The musical acaademy which would train students on classical music will follow the traditional gurukul training. The Chief Minister is learnt to have promised to extend all support to facilitiate this.

The CM had requested the BDA commissionaer to identify a suitable site for this purpose.

Astronaut training centre in Blore

Bangalore is soon to train astronauts for India's ambitious manned moon mission project which is scheduled to take place in 2015.

The ISRO which is preparing for the next lunar mission has identified 40 acres of land near the Bengalaru International Airport at Devananhalli for its training center which would be ready by 2012.

ISRO needs around 140 acres for its training center and the remaining land is expected to be provided by the State government shortly. This was informed by the ISRO chief after his meeting with Chief Minister.

Peenya Center to monitor Chandrayaan-1

Bangalore's industrial center, Peenya will play a major operation center for India's first moon mission programme, Chandrayaan-1.

With its successful launch, the tracking operations of the Chandrayaan 1 and its exploration programmes will now on conducted by the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) at Peenya.

The moon mission programme for the next 2 years will be monitored and guided  by the Peenya center which would keep track of the signals send from the spacecraft and analyse its operations.

Aussie team in Blore

Australian cricket team has arrived in Bangalore for the Test series which will start from october 9th. The first Test among the four test series between India and Australia will be played at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore.
 
The Aussie squad has returned from Hyderabad where they played the warm up matches.

NANO: Govt invite Tata for talks

On the wake of Tata Motors quitting Singur, Karnataka government has called on Tata Group to hold talks over the Nano project.
 
It is learnt that the government has proposed to provide land at Dharward along with support of facilities for Tata's Nano project.
 
Moreover Tata already got projects in Dharward and has been given over 900 acres of land including those for manufacturing of automobile units.

Terrorism is not a question of one individual-PM

Asked about the removal of Home Minister regarding his handling of terrorism, PM today said there are problems in the system to counter terrorism and "it is not a question of one individual".  "I think we are dealing with a difficult situation. It is not a question of one individual, it is a question of the system and we have problems. We need to improve our various mechanisms which are in place to counter terrorism," he said. He also said that the government will put its "best foot forward" while dealing with terrorism and left wing extremismas it constituted a "serious threat" to the country's unity.
