Govt exploring land for steel plant

World's renowned steel producer, ArcelorMittal has indicated of its plans to set up a mega steel plant in Karnataka. However the State government is still in search of a suitable location which can provide the proposed land for the steel plant. The other requirements being good supply of water and power for the steel plant. The acquistion of mass land mostly owned by farmers is itself a major concern for the government. Though the State has listed out sites in Bellary, Koppal and Raichur districts, a final call on this is yet to be taken.
