Friday, July 10, 2009
It was a battle ground in the Legislature too with the proceedings in the State Assembly being interrupted several times over the Mysore violence issue.
The incident which was already brewing trouble in the Assembly was triggered further with reports of fresh violence in Mysore on Thursday by alleged activists of Popular Front of India(PFI). Police officials and media reporters were attacked and police resorted to lathi charge which led the mob to more public damage. Meanwhile reacting to the outcry, chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and opposition leader requested the people to cooperate with the government efforts to maintain law and order in the State. --MP
