Though Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has proposed bullet trains for Karnataka, the Karnataka Chief Minister has put some conditions on to the proposal. The Chief Minister Yeddyurappa had asked for the proposed Chennai-Bangalore highspeed rail connectivity to be linked to Mumbai via Hubli with an additional link to Mysore.
The Rail Minister however has proposed the high speed rail route between Chennai-Bangalore-Ernakulam which the CM thinks would do no good to Karnataka.
"Such projects will help only the people of Tamil Nadu and Kerala to come to Bangalore and will not help the people of Karnataka," he stated. He even made it clear that the State would not be able to coperate unless its suggestions are considered on this regard.
