Chaplin statue in controversy

Controversies are mounting over the 67 feet Charlie Chaplin statue that has been erected at Maravanthe beach near Udupi for the shoot of the upcoming Kannada film, 'House Full'.
Though the film director Hemanth Hegde had taken prior permission for erecting the statue, some Hindu communal activists has attacked the statue and the film crew for allegedly potraying a Christian character. They also opposed to the statue coming up near to a temple premises. The attack has drawn criticism from artists across the film faternity. --MP
