The movie, Avva is based on her father P Lankesh's novel, 'Mussanjeya Kathaa Prasanga'.

The film stars Vijay, Shruthi and newcomer Smitha as the lead characters and the story is told on a village backdrop.

New face Smitha does a fair job. Shruthi plays her widow mother who potrays a powerful character. Vijay plays her daughter's love interest.

Others in the cast are Rangayana Raghu, Master Rakesh etc.
