Is Kannadiga patriotic?

hi guys do u agree that kannada people doesn't love their language then others do, if its no then why kannada language is not making waves then the other south Indian language in national level.like it may be political, cinema , sports.etc..

See, any kannadiga is only as less or as much patriotic as any other. But the fact to be accepted is that while Tamil cinema industry generated a lot of quality films just after MGR and SHIVAJI stopped their regular acting. This made emergence of a lot of new artists and like bharathiraj, mahendran, balumahendran. Due to this, every generation kept something in store for the tamil audiance. But as far as Kannada is concerned, there was absolutely no one who could take this responsibility of delivering good films after putanna. The audience are to be blamed very little. Which kannadiga will be proud to go to a theatre and watch a substandard or remade movie?

The other fact is a city like Bangalore which has kannadigas as minority shouldn't be the target of the film industry. There are so many other districts and small towns and related issues.

In a language where we have 7 gnyan peet award winners, dont you think the film makers should be blamed if they remake movies and lose audiences?

It is not true that kannadiga is not patriotic. But it is very true that kannidigas are not having the unity compared to other south Indians.

But if one considers the language, culture etc etc kannadigas are very mild and far better than others.

If cinema industries are considered, our cinema people are so lazy to search stories from kannada novels/literature. They are not bringing up the kannada story writers. They are simply selecting some stupid movies from other languages and remake to kannada. While remaking they are not even bothered to rethink if the culture in the remade movies should be accepted by kannadigas.

There are remake kings (actors) like dharshan,sudeep.There are worst thinkers like ravichandran, upendra. Even Vishnuvardhan started acting in lot of remake movies. This applies to actresses also.

Though shivaraj kumar is not very good looking, he is following the footprints of his father (Excellent actor kanndada industry has ever seen), this should be appreciated.

Kannada film makers should understand that audience is not dumb. They can also think. One simple example is movie Nenapirali. Whole movie was made in Mysore and Bangalore. But due to the simplicity and originality became proven movie.

Kanndaigas far ahead in almost all the good fields compared to others. If film makers can think little bit, they can drive the film industry also in the same level. If they are really realizing good movies, no doubt that they will get very good response.

Hey that was cool. But in a cosmopolitan city like bangalore, there is no civilized platform to demonstrate unity. It is only a usual bundh which marks unity which is not a good thing.

You are complete wrong, we have artist who have made international recogn. none of other Indian actor has done ,take sports too, at least in Indian cricket team 4-5 team members are kannadiga , hockey the famous goal keeper is kannadiga and in swiming we are emerging as national champions. The great dancer pradhu deva,murali, arjun is kannadiga and th e list goes on ., but we have are not show offs like others and never think like a frog in well saying thats the world., our wings are wide , if you are really an indian you can see it, if not you raise such question for each langauge...
Just because of few hits songs or hit movies in other language people think that language is greate..................sorry MR.

I dont know what is the motive of this topic. but still let me tell u that we ourself feel proud. I Have heard others telling the same abt kannada ,blre ,or state as a whole. Others say blore is hot because of out of state people not because of localites. I have seen lot of Kannadigas hesitate to speak to kannada, Infact uses other slang like macha, hindi words just for show off!
But think abt great indians in the world map like
Naryan moorthy, K V Kamath, Aishwarya rai,
Vijay Mallya, Mahesh bupathy, rahul dravid etc
even if u take hindi movies sunil shetty shilpa shetty, sneha ullal and many more
all over the country we have Udipi hotels
we have Karnataka originated banks

DO you know that in indian national cricket team there were 7 players from karnataka, that for almost 3 years. this can't be achived by any other state in india.

Now indian cricket team captain is Rahul....

Those who feel very in-secure will speak like this. Be always proud of your language and proud being a true Indian. Our country has as much as prominent personalities as there are notorious criminals. So weigh between that instead of thinking on boundaries of language with in the country. We are very proud of Unity in Diversity not on the individual aspects of Indians or language.

True, but,we too like others should have some distinct Kannadiga pride, because Indians including Kannadigas tend to clump us with the one broad group called "South Indians"... For example, people would say "X is a UP'ite, Y is a Bengali, Z is a Maharashtran" and then "... Amrita Rao is a South Indian." Correction: Logically that last adjective should be "Kannadiga"!!! Kannada and Tamil/Telugu are as different from each other as English and French are from each other. But we seem to cluster ourselves into one group as though we are one big uniform herd of sheep! We are not. Just like Gujaratis are different from Punjabis, Kannadigas also are different from Telugus or Tamils ethnically, linguistically, racially, culturally... It is scientifically incorrect to say that all these folks are one homogenous group called "south indians".
