It's all about our kannada naadu matthu namma nudi!!

About kannada Language

1] Kannada is the third oldest language of India.( After . . Sanskrit & Tamil )

2] kannada is as old as 2000 years.

3]Kannada is 99.99% perfect - logically and scientifically.

4] We got 7 Gnana peetha awards. Look at other languages . . . Hindi -- 6, Thelugu - 2, Malayalam - 3, Tamil -- 2 ( Second one during 2005 )

5]Shri VINOBA BHAVE has called kannada script as QUEEN OF WORLD SCRIPTS - " Vishwa lipigaLa RaaNi - kannada "

6] So called international language -- English do not have its own Script. English is written in " ROMAN "

7] So called national Language -- hindi do not have its own script. Hindi is written in " Deva nagari "

8] Though Tamil has a script, logically it is imperfect -- as common letters are used for many pronunciations.

KANNADA IS AS OLD AS 2000 YEARS, YOU CAN WRITE WHAT YOU SPEAK, YOU CAN READ WHAT YOU WRITE.

9] When " kaviraja maarga was written . . ." kaaveriyimda , gOdaavarivaregirpa ... " by Amogha varsha nripathumga, English was in cradle & hindi was not born at all.

SO . . .LET US HAVE PRIDE IN USING KANNADA "

HI, Mitrare,

I am a born kannadiga. I am not a fanatic. But I love my origin. My place, my language, friendliness of my native place. Above all I love how much time we have for others (like outlanders who do not know our language and culture!)

Before I start opining, let me introduce myself. I grew up in Mysore. I grew up in a very peaceful, trusting and very friendly environment. Basically that has been what the Mysoorians have been!

I left Mysore after graduation and some employment. I worked abroad for about twenty years. I tried to settle back in Bangalore. It was such a suffocating experience! Impossible to walk outside the house! Smoke! Extremely rude people on the road! above all what scared my heart deeply was, most people spoke to me in Hindi, before I even opened my mouth. After interaction I found that they were not north Indians, but local kannadigas.

After much disappointment, I moved to a an apartment in Mysore near JP nagar. A very quiet place. No traffic by any standards. I loved the old tranquility. But again here were the facts which have started disturbing me!

1. People who service the apartment like water vendors, clothes pressing vendors, security etc. speak Hindi.
2. I go to shops, to buy things. They all want to speak Hindi.
3. I go to open a bank account. They all want to speak in Hindi.
4. I go to supermarket like " More". I heard a cashier speaking in Hindi. I asked her why she is doing so!? She told me that the other person, who keeps a road stall for "pani puree" does not want to recognize and speak in Kannada.
5. I have traveled all over the world. I have lived in many countries. No one bothered what language I spoke. They wanted listen their own language. I spoke the language where I lived. But when I returned to my native place, I am being forced to speak another language.
6. My question is............. When I look at any one who speaks Kannada, I feel a bit of closeness. I am broad minded. I am spiritual. I do not limit my evolution to any worldly thing. Still, I think, this problem, of degrading a society, which stands for freedom, welcomeliness, friendliness, nature of helping others, is being destroyed. Purely because the other societies do not recognize our friendliness, and treat it like a weakness. We are no different from the Tibetans, who adopted the same principles, and are suffering as a society today!

6. I do not want to be fanatic, at same time, I do not want to destroy myself (Self means what my mind stands for!). Yes I want to grow beyond all limitations of mind and world. But I want to do it out of my own free will and freedom. Not forced by anyone else! Above all this feeling of freedom and openness to learn and adopt, should not be treated as a weakness, rather a culture of greater development and evolution.

Pl remember what our ancestor told sadhunge sadhu madhuryange madhuryan badipa kalige kaliyuga veepareethan madhavaneethan peranalla what a brave word

That means he is nice to good people and he is soft to cultured people but if he provoked
By others he is nothing but kaliyuga vipareethan and he is no one else madhava means kannadiga .if we follow our ancestors no one in the earth challenge us

Geleyare yele ondagi horadana ondaagi kugona sirigannnadam gelgey sirigannadam balgey siriganndam algey jai bhuvaneshwari

Due to lack of unity among kannadiga people and lack of geographical, and history knowledge of Karnataka we lost hosur ooty coimbatore nilagiri Salem to Tamil nadu and ananthapura, kurnool to Andhra Pradesh and sangli, kolhapura, miraj sollapura to maharastra kasargod kallikote to kerala etc.

Only way to restore all this area to Karnataka is kannadise politics and militarize kannadiga

Namaskara geleyare, i felt really proud and happy reading these blogs...good to c so many ardent kannadigas.I am by birth a Telugu, some centuries ago our people migrated from some bordering districs of Andhra, but now its not just me but most of my community r naturilised kannadigas, we speak, write, and read kannada, nd dont associate ourselves with Andhra. We have our own native culture, more or less tht of Vokkaliga community. And there r a lot of instances when some Andhra guys talk bad of Kannada or Karnataka, i get reeally furious and def. educate them abt. Kannada and its culture and heritage., then they accept and most people say they didnt know., so it s our duty to educate people rather fight with them. Kannadigas i think r the most peace loving and cultured people in India. I just cant live anywhere in the world, one day without a kannada song or word i cant survive.
Guys u wud have seen the "MILE SUR MERA TUMHAARA 2" it was shocking tht Kannada gets hardly some seconds where as the other languages have double our time, ther r no kannadigas in tht video, its Kavita Krishanamurthy and L . Subramaniyam, due respects to them, but dont v have ne credible Kannadigas to b in tht video?? Y did those guys chose non kannadigas to kannadigas., r v so bankrupt tht we dont have ne recognizable faces? I think the producers of tht faltoo mile sur 2 should be penalised, pls boycottt tht and where ever possible do educate people abt. tht and let s tell those guys tht we have enough talent here in Karnataka, we dont want other s to represent us....Have they forgotten the greats?? Narayan Murthy, Anil Kumble, Rajkumar, Puneet???? It s disgusting, and its humiliating as well to c tht!!!! Pls guys stand up for ur rights...lets have a peacefull, non.violent protest abt. this...let not people outside Karnataka think tht we r the last in India.
Lastly but not the least....wud say tht i wud want to be born a hundred times as a kannadiga...and live and die a kannadiga, JAYA BHARATHA JANANIYA THANUJAATHE JAYA HAIN KARNATAKA MAATHE.

Hey Kannadigas, Why you people are this much proud about your language and state? What the hell you have? Your language is having least importance in your state itself. Kannada language has no importance in National level. Nobody want to see kannada films. There is no good actors in kannada film industry. In bangalore percentage of kannadigas are diminishing day by day. In Karnataka only 60% of people speak Kannada.

Better forget about kannada and try to learn other languages, otherwise you can't live in Bangalore for long. Try to accept the fact that Bangalore no longer belongs to kannadigas. Your capital city Bangalore is going out of your hands. Now it is in the hands of Tamilians, Telugus and north Indians. So better leave the false pride about your language and try to learn other languages. Otherwise it will be difficult for you people to survive

By rajeshan on Sunday, June 06, 2010 - 05:25 pm: Edit Post

dont even compare kannada to tamil, you guys are nerds

By sivaprasad on Monday, June 07, 2010 - 07:31 am: Edit Post

its ok Rajeshan. Kannadigas will try to learn other languages.
But what about your Tamilnadu State?
More than 40% people of Tamilnadu speak telugu.
Though the Govt of Tamilnadu not showing true
reports regarding this, it is 100% sure.
Tamilnadu name itself wrong. The best name is
telugunadu. So first you should learn Telugu, and then only you are eligible to say to other people to learn other languages.

Think good, and be happy, don't panic.

By Honey on Tuesday, June 08, 2010 - 04:49 am: Edit Post

Sivu,

The number of telugus are more in Karnataka as compared to Tamilnadu. You can refer to the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/States_of_India_by_Telugu_speakers.

If you don't know anything please keep quiet. Telugus form only 5% of Tamilnadu population. But your Karnataka state is having only 60% kannada population.
