I love kannadaMy-Kannada.Com: Karnataka Forum: Social Science: I love kannadaBy Anand on Tuesday, August 07, 2007 - 02:04 pm: Edit Post I feel sorry to say that our own kannada people are hating kannada language. they wont speak even though they know it. Its a tragedy. It is we kannadigas who should protect and grow it. My sincere request is read kannada books. They are no way less interesting compared to other languages. Its literature is vast. Please read it. By Rev.Devanand Subuddy on Tuesday, August 07, 2007 - 02:05 pm: Edit Post i agree with anand about the love for kanada. but i have a skeptic feeling about his statement that kanada people dont speak kanada even though they know kanada. but i am proud when kanada people can speak many other languages other than kanada. i am from andhra pradesh i lived in bangalore for 5 years and now i am living in tamilnadu since an year i lived in kerala only for 3 weeks. when i was in bangalore from the day one i did not had any problems of communication because the people can speak telugu and tamil and hindi very communicatively. living in bangalore within 6 month i could learn kanada and even tamil with my telugu back ground. but when i am now in chennai i really thank kanada people because it is the bangalore which taught me to communicate in tamil and hindi. people start questioning in english and try to make out the language of other people and try to speak in their language that is why they can speak many languages. i think it is good. but out wardly we may feel bad that kanada is dwindling but i dont think so because the written language of the people is only kanada. i have relatives from andhra pradesh and tamil nadu and madhya pradesh in bangalore their children can not read or write in telugu or hindi or tamil they all only know to read and write kanada. so i think when kanada is very much in their writing and reading they are really upholding it. more over i feel kanada people should speak kanada when they go to other states then even others can learn kanada and speak kanada when they come to karnataka. i think love for kanada is making non kanada people to speak kanada.
