3 New medical colleges gets approval
Friday, June 17, 2005 | AY
Medical Education Minister Iqbal Ansari said he was confident that the Medical Council of India (MCI) would clear at least three new Government medical colleges at Mandya, Hassan and Belgaum from this academic year. The MCI had given approval for 100 seats at the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hubli. The MCI had reduced the seats at KIMS by 50 percent last year because of poor infrastructure. The minister said the government was considering setting up three new colleges at Gulbarga, Koppal and Karwar from the next academic year.
